All parents want to provide the best possible start for their children, but sometimes families need a little help. Help Me Grow Lucas County provides a variety of health, developmental and support services that are free confidential and available to Lucas County residents who are expecting a child or those with an infant or child under 3 years of age.
Help Me Grow offers:
- In-home visits by registered nurses before and after the birth of a baby
- Information on child health, growth and development
- Parenting tips and parent-to-parent support
- Screening for health, hearing, vision and development
- Fun developmental activities for parents and children
- Access to services and therapies for special needs.
Sometimes every parent needs a little hand. Parenting is a tough job, but with Help Me Grow, no one has to face it alone. In addition to the above listed services, Help Me Grow offers family support:
- Work with families on developing confidence in their parenting skills
- Assist in increasing parent’s knowledge of child’s development
- Discuss with parents how to develop a strong parent-child relationship
- Host Parent-Get-Togethers
- Make information available to parents about upcoming workshops
- Knows where there are resource libraries of books and videos about parenting
