Often times, to ensure consumer safety, recalls are issued on products. These recalls range from everyday use products, to toys, automobiles and food. Information for each kind of product recall can be found below:
Recalls.gov—a “one stop shop” for U.S. Government Recalls
Food Safety and Inspection Service– A branch of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) that issues recalls on meat, poultry, and egg products
Food and Drug Administration—The FDA issues recalls on other types of food as well as pet food and animal feed. Additionally, they have jurisdiction over recalls involving drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, blood and plasma products, vaccines, other biologics and veterinary products.
US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)—The US CPSC has jurisdiction over more than 15,000 kinds of consumer products used in and around the home, in sports, recreation and schools including appliances, clothing, electronics, furniture, household items, children’s products, lighting, outdoor, sports/exercise equipment.
